BF6 Gamers Are Convinced: Tasks Are Way Too Hard
The release of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 garnered broad praise, especially for its premier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are protesting against several of the title's hardest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Players have started using personalized games created through Battlefield Portal to achieve these objectives, underscoring just how demanding these assignments have become.
Grasping Battlefield 6 Assignments
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the periodically changed day-to-day and weekly tasks. It features four classes of assignments, but although many simply offer cosmetics and some tools, achieving the firearm tasks is the exclusive means of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one primary weapons available in the game.
A number of these gated guns could shortly find their way on rosters of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash on Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are reasonably sharing their frustrations about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This task is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to tear my hair out," is a statement that captures just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer benefits in combat as it did in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Additionally, firing an LMG without aiming is wildly inaccurate and is effective only at very short distances, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The same user also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that task would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Extremely Difficult Mission
Another Reddit user pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with long-range weapons
This is challenging enough as it is, but there's one more key thing to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at that kind of range.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but since there are only nine levels in the game right now, it means you're limited to playing one of the larger locales, a particular valley environment, and maybe a classic map if you're lucky if you aim to take long-range shots from beyond 200 meters.
The Alternative Method
However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.
Yet, if completing the missions in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for grinding them out in a custom game so allies are not impaired?
Upcoming Tweaks
It won't come as a surprise if several of these tasks are adjusted to be less difficult in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, certain gamers simply won't get their hands on the gated weapons.
Currently, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these challenging battlefield assignments, expecting a less arduous gaming experience in future updates.
