NFL Roundup: Denver Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

During a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a close victory over the winless New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the late decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Defensive Display Wins Game

Despite registering nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after giving up a safety in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce just 82 total net yards during the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard field goal with approximately five minutes remaining.

Historic Struggles for Jets Offense

In spite of their dismal performance, the Jets maintained possession with a chance to score a possible winning score. However Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion rather than sending out kicker Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties all game, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York finished with negative ten passing yards, the fewest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," Glenn commented after the game.
