The Simpsons Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Vehicle You're Hoping For
It was previously announced that The Simpsons was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole place where fans can experience the world of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, introducing an in-game car skin that will also be usable in the Fortnite universe. That said, if gamers will truly desire to equip it is a different matter, as fans have their hearts set on just one Springfield car the community is eager to get behind the wheel of, and this new offering isn't that one.
The Dream Vehicle
Although most players would undoubtedly love to compete while driving The Homer—the notoriously impractical automobile Homer built personally in the classic episode "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what's being offered. We aren't even receiving the Canyonero, the heavy-duty vehicle featured in the tenth season. Rather, players are getting the Simpsons' everyday well-worn four-door, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Though this particular car has seen better days, it remains an iconic element of the series. For those who analyze Rocket League car hitboxes, the Simpson family car uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

More Than Just a Car

According to a official announcement, the missions will require participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons seasons, gather boost canisters as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ house, and travel a specific distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"
Although the full lineup of challenge rewards hasn't been revealed, here is what's been announced so far:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
Based on promotional images is any indication, it seems fans will also get wheels with a television displaying The Simpsons' title sequence, alien antenna toppers, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty's famous restaurant.
